Zena

Meet Zena, fka Zona, a resilient and loving 4.5-year-old pitbull mix with a heart full of joy despite a tough start. She arrived at the shelter with several burns on her chest and multiple dog bite wounds, narrowly escaping euthanasia. Since then, she has flourished, showing her true affectionate, playful nature. Zena is a lap dog at heart and adores giving doggy kisses. She enjoys her walks and does very well on a leash. She would fetch for hours if given the opportunity.

Smart and eager to please, she knows basic commands like sit, stay, down, place, and shake. Zena is also crate-trained and has mastered using the doggie door. Though Zena is sweet and full of love, she does have one quirk: she’s possessive of her toys. This has led to some scuffles in her foster home, so she would do best in a home without other dogs. However, a slow and careful dog introduction has worked in the past. Zena is the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate dog who’s overcome hardship and is ready to give all her love. She’ll make a wonderful addition to your family!
