Meet Hundo! Handsome 4 year old and 40ish pounds.

Hundo was saved from euthanasia by our rescued in October 2024 and is currently in a foster home, and here is what his foster family has to say about him:

Nickname: Chunky Monkey, Baby/Handsome Hippo

How long has you had him: Since 10/23/24

Potty Trained: Yes

Crate Trained: Yes

Leash Trained: Yes

What commands does he know well: sit and paw, leave it (almost). Working on muzzle training and other commands.

Does he get along with kids? Would do best in a kid free home.

What about other dogs? Not at this time, but our trainer feels that in time he could be successful. We are currently using the crate and rotate method in our home and working on desensitization with pack walks.

Where does your foster dog sleep? In an impact crate.

Best behaviors: People pleaser, treat motivated, listens well, friendly, happy, cuddle bug and loves command work. He is not fence or crate reactive with people. He does not resource guard treats, food or toys.

Working on: Caution with handling while asleep. Reactive to dogs, rc cars, loud noises, and some passing vehicles. Anxious when handler is out of site from yard.

Favorite Activity: walks, toys and bones, fetch, snuggling, being close to his person for affection.

Toys: He loves stuffs, bones, and balls.

Interested parties should know: Hundo should sleep in an impact crate and be allowed to fully waked up before handling. No forced handling. He would do best in a quiet/calm, only-dog home. No dog parks, and walking in a low traffic area.

Set Hundo Up For Success: Hundo is looking for a foster or adopter to continue teaching him the ways of being in a loving structured home.
